Men VS Women

From an e-mail that Billy sent to me this morning:
"I forgot to tell Kristy that Emily was asleep on our bed."

I simply copy and pasted this...

Um, Ok. Daddy needs to be sure that he tells the baby-sitter where the child IS!!! Lol, I immediately called her and she said she had found Emily. Lovely. You gotta love the Daddys.

Emily got her first yoga outfit and we tried it on last night. She's very cute, if I do say so myself.

We also have pro-wrestlers on our hands. Since both of the babies move so much now, especially William, they like to play together and roll around all over the place, and onto each other! They were "playing" last night, and here are a few pictures. I also took a video. It was very funny to see them interacting and pulling/tugging on each other!

Baby smiles = World Peace

This morning while nursing William, he pulled away and made his "agee" sound, along with a little spit, with his eyes completely closed and a big grin on his face. It was the funniest thing.

I have decided that if everyone could start their day with a smile like a baby has in the morning, the world would be a happier place.

A little Jaguar package

The other night, Emily was fussy, her suit was soaking wet, so I undressed her and wrapped her in this big, wooly Jaguar blanket. She immediately hushed and I scooped her up and "delivered" her to Billy, telling him this was his special Jaguar package. It was so cute, she just looked around, with just her eyes peeking out...all for about 5 mins! Oh well, the next time she is fussy, I'm going to do it again!

Both babies are learning to spit more. Emily is starting to spit a little while she eats. William spits more when he is just laying around, playing, and it's so funny to watch their mouths form and try for something to happen, and to be surprised when it actually does.

Emily has started being a bit more vocal and soemtimes she is quite loud. Our baby boy does NOT like loud sounds, he gets startled very easy, and sometimes when Emily is chatting/yelling, he will cry - it's really not funny, but it's making me chuckle to think about it. His little lip pokes out and his face just crumples up and he immediately starts crying.

They are both turning over quite well now. William does much better on his tummy, and will stay that way more than Emily does. She goes over to her tummy very often, but she can't get back over quite as well. She has gotten stuck many times, and doesn't like that one bit.

I was trying to think of a few little stories to share, but they are not coming so easily right now...I need to blog about them right when they happen and I'm going to commit to doing that! I know I've said that 100 times, but I mean it this time!

I'm starting the count down...9 days left in my 20's...EEEEEEK! 30 is knocking, LOUDLY, on my door.

Happy Tuesday!

Spitting and Sputtering

This is what William does when you try to fee him a bottle/nurse him right now. He hates to take it!!! I don't know what in the world is going on with him, but giving him a bottle or trying to nurse can be very challenging at times. He'll lay there and turn his head all around, talk, coo, spit, gurgle, laugh, smile...anything but EAT! He does normally eat his real food fairly well, so I'm glad for that, but Milk does a body good, as we all know! He needs that MILK!!!

Besides that, all is well with both of them. Emily is a character still, and she is talking more and making more sounds that sound similar to William. Sometimes she screeches and it scares William and he cries. It's very funny ( yes I know that might sound mean, but it is).
William sounds like a teradactyl many times.

They are both eating their feet and most times take socks off and eat those. They are doing great in their activity center, jumperoos, exersacuers, walkers, etc. They are also doing good sitting up, we try to practice at night and both can sit by themselves, but they topple over and most times we sit behind them to give them a little help.

Not much else is happening. Just a general update. I HAVE to be better about posting stores, day to day things that happen. I'll try!
Happy Wednesday!

Winding down

The work week is winding down and I am very glad. I've been busy and the week has flown by, but I'm ready to be home for 2 days!

Last night, Emily got a bottle of formula for the first time ( again, I don't count the NICU stuff). She seemed to do fine with it, even though she threw up this morning. She has been sleeping AWFUL at night, so I decided to try this and see if I could fill her up a little more. I'm just not sure she is getting enough milk from me by the very end of the day. William is still doing good with his formula bottle at night and sleeps thru most nights.

Tomorrow we go to their first "friend" BD party. We will be going to a small water play area, where they have kiddie pools and slides. We may be trying to go down a water slide, not sure on that one yet.

We've been taking the babies on a walk each night around 7pm. They are getting very fussy and agitated around this same time every night, but they like being outside and moving around. Last night we get ready, I put my socks and shoes on and head for the door only to realize I only have my bra on, no shirt. Lol...silly me!

I feel like I had a lot more to post about, but right now, I can't think of what that is...so I'll just say Happy Friday!

Oh no you don't!!!!

Sunday I took the babies outside with us, Billy was doing yard work and I was weeding my bush bed. I went over to the pack and play to check on the twins, and I saw a flying insect. Let me just say - I hate bees. I have been stung by many bees and I dont' like them...yes I saw Bee Movie and that did lighten my heart a little...but still, they are not my favorite thing. I cannot be still around a bee, I'm the person that flails around and yells. So as I see this flying insect coming close to my babies, I think it's a bee, and I immediately say out loud " oh no you don't!" I swat at the bee and try to cover the pack and play with my body so the bee cannot get to them. It didnt' even cross my mind that the bee might sting ME, I just wanted to protect those babies...
As it turns out, it wasn't a bee, just a huge fly. BUT - it dawned on me, I did a Mama thing, I tried to protect my babies. Without thinking of myself, as I normally would, I thought of them first, and I would have gladly been stung 100 times if it had prevented them from being stung. Afterwards, I thought...I tried to protect them. Cool. Go me! :-)

We have been trying to go on more walks in the evening, Emily and William both like being outside. They can be fussy and when they go out, I don't hear a peep out of them. Plus, I think it's good to get out in the fresh air a little bit.

We are now eating sweet potatoes and that is going well. I think I'm going to try peas next!

Tomorrow, the babies are visiting my work for the first time, so they can meet my co-workers and possibly some volunteers. Hopefully, everyone will be in a social, pleasant mood and it will go well!
Happy Tuesday night!

Almost 100!

I'm almost to 100 blogs! Go me
Just for the record - the babies ate bananas for the first time on July 3rd, 2009. They ate sweet potatoe for the first time on July 11th,2009. And they ate cereal for the first time on 6/6/09. I'm afraid I'm going to forget all this, afraid that it's all going to slip away and I'll be racking my brain trying to remember when they did what.
I started thinking about this today after meeting a mom-to-be and trying to tell her things...and some things, I just didn't know! I could NOT remember. Things that seemed so important at the time, and things that encompassed my whole life...are just a memory now, and sometimes not even that! Scarrrry!
Me and Emily watered my plants tonight outside. William and Billy played this morning in bed. Me and Emily layed on the couch. Random things like this, random sites, random sounds, random things...those are what make me happy. Small things, unimportant things to most, but THE MOST important things to me.
I love my husband and family and babies so very much...even though at this very moment my husband is in the living room with his friends watching a UFC fight, and being loud, even though they PROMISED they would be quiet....Such is life!
Happy Saturday night!

Playing catch up with a List

1. I love my babies. And I love my husband. More than anything.

2. Last night William got a formula bottle. Yes, they got formula in the NICU, but I don't count that...so last night was his 1st "real" formula bottle. He has been having an awful time nursing at night, just terrible, so I decided to try a formula bottle to see if that helped. He fought a little, but I think his tummy got full and he slept all night. I think my body is just slowly winding down producing milk, so I'll just do what I can.

3. Both babies are now eating cereal and food. They got bananas for the first time on July 3rd, when my mom and nana were down visiting. They will switch to sweet potatoes this Saturday. Both seem to enjoy it, though William eats better than Emily, he swallows more and opens his mouth and actually takes it in. Emily is doing fine too, she is just slightly messier!

4. Emily has rolled over a few more times this week. Neither have rolled since we were in St. Augustine, but Emily is making her move now!

5. We are practicing sitting up. Both babies are doing good with it, and both are learning how to push thmeselves back up, from the tripod position. I'm pleased with their progress!

6. Emily still loves her Jumperoo and she especially loves music. When you turn a fast paced song on, she will go crazy, jumping and smiling, it's really funny.

7. We have been swimming twice. Both times William fell asleep. 2nd time William had a poopy diaper in the pool, and it leaked a little out of the Little Swimmer. He happened to be on Billy's shoulders at the time, so it was slightly comical. I took him out and we tore the swimmer off and some poop was hanging from his bottom and it dropped on the concrete. Oops. Then once he was all cleaned up, I walked thru it. Oops. I spread poop all over the concrete. Oops! Lol...

8. We love Skype and use it almost daily. We talk to my mom and my nana and we have talked to my cousin a few times. Last night we were able to chat with Wendy and Lauren and they got to see the babies, so that was fun. It's really neat. Now if I can just talk my dad into doing it...

9. Emily and William both love to be tickled. B's mom says that tickling babies is torture, but when I see those big smiles and hear that laugh...how can that be torture?! It is so cute!

10. I think that's it for now.

I'm terrible about blogging, not sure why. I think about it a lot, and I want to write. But...it doesn't happen. I am trying though, and doing my best, and I think that's about all anyone can ask for! Happy Thursday! :-)
