Jesus Loves Me

I have decided to sing Jesus Loves Me continuously tonight, instead of drinking a beer. I didn’t even finish 1/2 of it last night and honestly, that’s not me, so it didn’t fit well…even though, my first few sips were delicious. So tonight, Jesus Loves Me it is!

I had to take William to the doctor this afternoon for a check-up on his ears, and they are all clear, which is good! Both babies were good at the doctor, even though they insisted on dragging blankets thru the parking lot and all around the floor at the dr’s office.

We went to Wendy’s afterwards. This is me in the Wendy’s drive-through:

We got home about 5 mins after this…put Emily’s nasty blanket in the washing machine and this is what we went through for the next 30 minutes:

I am NOT liking this stage of tantrums. Thankfully, she only does it at home, and normally, it’s only with Mama…but it is maddening to say the least. I’m not sure how to handle them, except attempt to put her in time-out, though she won’t stay. Yes, I pop her bottom to anyone who is wondering, but it does nothing. I just let her scream and yell it out, and wont’ let her out until she calms down and we can attempt to talk. I have tried being very loving and also being somewhat tough on her, haven’t seen a difference with either. *sigh* I guess she is just 2 1/2.

Another phase we are going through right now is floor sleeping, which I might have mentioned before. I’m not a fan of this either.

Normally, they are both semi under their beds in the morning. They absolutely will NOT lay in their beds…again, not sure what to do about this. I guess as long as they sleep, it’s alright, but it’s a tad unconventional. I also think there are bigger problems in the world than where my kids sleep, so I’m not worrying about it too much.

Ahhhhh, now off to wash dishes and make lunches. Happy Wednesday!

A Red Moon!

Yesterday on the way home, we saw a red moon:

Lol, you might not even be able to see it, but it’s actually the sun. Both Emily and William swore it was the moon though and became irritated when I tried to tell them it wasn’t the moon. I finally gave up and we chased the red moon all the way home.

We were on our way home from Jakie’s BD party. Jakie is my first little best friend and he is now 10 years old, which is so hard to believe. We went to his party at Lattitude 30 and it was our first trip, but it definitely won’t be our last.

You see our babies are starting young at the bar, lol…

We had a great weekend going to a wedding of my dear friend Wendy. We dropped the babies off in WR with their Mimi, and then drove on up to Peachtree City, where we stayed in a hotel overnight ( yipee) and got to visit with old friends.

So now folks, I’m signing off. I actually have an open beer…yes…I have a beer on a Tuesday night, for someone who NEVER drinks anything, but tonight…it just calls for one. Let’s just say a few Level 10 tantrums have driven me there, in the 3 short hours I’ve had my children. My hats go off to SAHM’s…seriously…I don’t think I could do it.

Happy Tuesday!

P.S. I love my kids very much, lol, just to be clear! Winking smile

Costumes

Christie and Chris came over for dinner on Saturday night, and Christie put “costumes” on them. These costumes consisted of Emily’s thick panties on their heads and a hat on top of that. They thought this was hilarious and it was quite funny.

On Sunday, we played with more costumes which consisted of hats and scarves.

Emily was brushing her Daddy’s hair with the little plastic brush in one of the pictures. Then she smiled…and then, she gave the look that she gives us so often now..her sassy look. A few weeks ago someone asked me if they had gotten to the sassy phase, and at that point, I wasn’t sure. I know for sure now – we are there with Emily.

You see that Emily had the scarf first, and then William stole it and took off running…then she got it back and did the same thing. We do this a lot now….

So today after work I decided to try to clean the carpet. I borrowed a carpet cleaner for my BD that I have to return this upcoming weekend, and I’ve been putting it off. I wasn’t sure how I would keep the twins occupied while I did this, so….I put on more “costumes.” Lol, today it consisted of a new dress Emily got, play shoes ( which I never let her wear), and William got to pick out some too big tennis shoes. All was well in our world tonight and the carpet is drying, as I type this.

Emily has started to pitch a fit when she has to go potty. It’s so weird, and I have no idea why she does it. She kicks her feet and refuses to sit up all the way. It’s gross, but several times her bottom gets wet from the toilet water…GAG I know! I’m not sure what to do about it, so tonight, I captured it.

Sleepless Saturday

As I type this, my husband and his friend are in my living room watching '” Hobo with a Shotgun.” Yes, you saw that right. I took that as my cue to exit and write a short blog.

Last night me and the twins had pouches and pancakes. I don’t know how most of you feel about pouches, but I love them. I only buy the ones with veggies, and I send one in their lunchbox everyday. My kids will not eat many vegetables, so I figure if it’s in a pouch form, so be it for right now.

Last night was also special because Billy came home from work early, very unexpectedly. The babies stayed up later, layed in our bed and watched a football game, Emily fell asleep and so I put William in his bed. Me and Billy came out into the living room, I started washing dishes, and when I finished, I came into the living room to find this:

William had snuck out and was eating cookies and milk with his Daddy. At 9:30pm! Lol, hey – you only live once, right?!!?

Today has been pretty low key. We went to the park this morning, and then came home and piddled around the rest of the day. That’s been about it!

Humpback Whales

I decided to take William to the doctor today. He’s had a lingering cough he can’t shake, and over the last couple of days, it’s seemed to be worse. I had been debating on whether or not to take him in, so I decided today was the day. Thank goodness I did – he has a double ear infection! It’s only the 2nd one he’s had, and so far, Emily has never had one, but he’s completely asymptomatic, and I had no idea. Poor little guy.

While at the doctor’s office, Emily was sitting in a chair reading a book. She gets to a page and gasps, LOOK. I ask her what it is and she calmly looks up and goes “ This is a humpback whale.” WHAT?! I asked her to repeat it and sure enough, that’s what she said. I just laughed out loud…I have NO earthly idea where she learned that from..unless it was Dora…she learns quite a lot from Dora…

So this past weekend we travelled to WR for our annual BD parties. This is who we celebrate:

DSC_0653

Aunt, cousin, me, family friend, Mama and family friend. We do this every year.

This year was extra good because all of the baby cousins were there to play with one another!

At Mimi’s house, they act like they are nudists!

And Mama got to go to Atlanta for a night out, to celebrate one of my very goodest friends, Wendy!

I think that’s it for now! Happy Wednesday!
