The girl is pulling ahead!

Miss Emily is longer than William now! He has always been bigger than him, but she has surpassed him now, lol, you go girl!!!

William is 25 inches long and 13.7 pounds. He is in the 25th percentile for weight and 50th percentil for height.

Emily is 26 1/4 inches long and is 13.6 pounds. She is in the 97th percentil for her height and in the 50th percentile for her weight.

I'm very happy that they both seem to be doing so well and gaining weight. So as of right now, we will NOT be starting cereal until 6 months, unless something drastic changes and they quit nursing. But I think we are doing good and I want to keep on going until I can't do it anymore.

They got their 4-month shots today, but they did really good. Emily already wasn't happy, so the shot just put the icing on the cake. They are both sleeping right now, I think the visit wore them out, and hopefully after another dose of Tylenol later, they will sleep well tonight.

I love my babies and I'm so thankful that they are strong and healthy, after starting a little small and a little scared. We are so blessed.

Hard Economic Times

You know it's rough when the dentist has started charging $1 for toothbrushes...and the tiny headed ones at that. I declined the offer.

We go for our 4-month appt on Tuesday, and hopefully the doctor will give the twins a clean bill of health. I can't imagine she wouldn't. My only concern is that they are still getting enough nourishment from me each time they nurse. When they get their bottle during the day, they get almost 7 ounces each time, and when I pump at work, I dont' get that much each time. I'm still able to get enough milk for both bottles each day...but I just think the supply may be tapering off just a tad. Anyway, I'm sure that's TMI - but I'll keep you posted anyway! :-)

We went out to dinner last night with Uncle Ryder, he graduated from college yesterday! We are all very proud of him, as he's been trying to accomplish this goal for a while now. He finally did it, so we took him out to celebrate. Mama had to come home early to pump and sleep, but Daddy got to stay out a bit later. Actually, I'm not sure what time he got home, and he is still sleeping right now, so I guess I'll get the rundown later!

Work is still going fine, not much to speak of there. Things with Kristy are awesome, and I feel so lucky to have her each and every day. She is great with my babies, and it's just wonderful. Nothing else to say about that.

Umm...what else? We are giving the babies more tummy time, probably not as much as we should be though. I'm trying, and hopefully they will roll over soon. Yes, I know, don't wish away this time...I just think it'll be neat for them to roll, at least once. Then they can wait a while to do it again, lol...

They are both still as cute as they can be though. Emily is still her fiesty self and gets upset if you're not talking to her or holding her. She doesn't like to be left a lone too much, and she likes to be facing out. She's very observant and she likes to see everything around her. She loves riding in the front pack and Kristy uses that when they go out on their walks everyday. Yes, she takes all 3 kids out for a walk every single day. I only managed like 2 walks the whole time I was home with them!!!!!!
William is still talking up a storm and he is still all smiles. Lately, at night, he has been getting a little more fussy as it gets closer to bedtime, not sure why, I think he may be getting hungrier a little earlier, which is why I said what I said above...but we just hold him and hang out and we normally wait until bedtime.

They are sleeping well at night, still not all the way thru, but I think we're on the right road for that. They don't nurse at night, they go to bed, and when they do wake up, I pick them up, re-bundle them, hold for just a few mins and then lay back down. Normally that works just fine, and they're good until morning breakfast, around 4:45-5:00. I try to get up and shower first, but sometimes it doesn't work like that.
Anyway, it's the weekend, yay for that! Enjoy the day!

Today is Emily and William's 1st Easter! It's been great so far. We colored Easter eggs last night, and that was a lot of fun, more so than I thought it would be. Today we have been to church and we are waiting to go over to B's parent's house for lunch and socializing. After church we did our Easter baskets and took lots of pictures. The babies did not seem overly impressed with their baskets, though they did seem to like the sunglasses. Pictures of course will follow soon, once today is over and they are off of the camera!

Friday I had to take William to the doctor for a rash on his face. I had both children with me, and right when we walked in the office door, Emily let loose. She started screaming and screaming and would NOT stop! I took her out of the stroller and was trying to hold her and push the double stroller, AKA the BUS, at the same time, which was not too easy. She'd calm down, and then start again, lol...there was absolutely nothing I could do, so I just laughed. Everyone in the whole place was looking at us, and just so you know, this is NOT a pediatrician's office. It's a primary care office that has a pediatrician...but everyone waiting was an adult, so there were no other sympathetic moms around. One lady moved. Lol, she gathered her stuff up and moved to the other side of the room. I dont' think it helped though, becausae Billy happened to have a regular check up appt at the same place ( his doctor is in the same building), and he could hear Emily all the way in his room. Anyway, they called William's name to go back and I was attempting to back up the stroller and turn it around, when a stranger came and asked if I needed help. I accepted. A sweet lady pushed William into the doctor's office and then explained that she had 13-year old twins and she remembered what it was like having 2. Awesome. I thanked her profusely and we proceeded with our appt.

Just FYI - William has very dry skin and has terrible cradle cap right now. We have to put hydrocortizone on his face 2 times per day and we have strict insturctions to moisturize really well, but nothing with fragrance, white, no perfume, no dyes. Hopefully it will clear up soon.

I think that's about it for now. I have completed 3 full weeks at work, and that is going good. My sitter, Kristy, is awesome, and I feel so lucky and blessed to have her watching my kiddos. She's just doing a great job with them, and I feel 100% comfy with everything. Not too much else going on! Happy Easter! :-)

Reading Rainbow

I read my first book today, to the children I mean. Actually, it was just Emily. Billy's mom has been after me for a while now to start reading to them, while I was still pregnant even. Now I have a volunteer who is also asking me if I'm reading to them yet. Well, now I am! :-)

Happy Thursday! Weekend is almost here! Now that I'm back at work, I care about the weekend again!

Sunny days and Kettle Korn

Today we took a big step - we went on our 3rd outing. Jacksonville has just started having a little market/festival thing every weekend, and today was the opening day. They have a bunch of vendors that sell art and other handmade things. We took the babies, along with Grandma and Grandpa and Christie and Chris. Everyone helped and I'm not sure I would have braved it had it just been me and Billy...anyway, the babies did great and we even went out to eat afterwards! I was very glad about how everything went and maaaay even attempt an outing again! Lol...

Not too much has been going on with us. My 2nd week of work went good, I feel like the adjustment has gone better than expected. My sitter/nanny is working out GREAT, I could not ask for a better arrangement. She is a great care giver, and a wonderful mom, and I have no doubt she is taking excellent care of my babies.

Emily is talking and smiling more. You can talk to her and smile at her, and she smiles back now.We never thought she would - but she does! William is still doing it too of course, but he talks much more now..he'll coo at you and just look like he wants to say a word so bad. It's really cute.

It never ceases to amaze me how fast they are growing and how much they change...it's exciting and sad at the same time. I guess that's what happens when you have kids.

Easter Bunny visit

On Wednesday, we took Emily and William to the mall to meet the Easter Bunny. It was their 2nd real outing, and it went fairly well. Emily was very upset in the car on the way to the mall, and then she was fine once we started moving and walking around the mall. Then in the car on the way home, we stopped at Chick Fil A and we couldn't even hear the drive-thru person talking, Emily was crying so loud, lol...Oh well, once we started moving again, she hushed.
Neither William or Emily cared much about the Bunny...they just sat on his lap and acted like they could care less, lol...
