4 years and counting...

Me and Billy celebrated our 4-year anniversary on Thursday. We went out to eat and then by Jagmania to see what kind of good deals we could get on Jaguar gear. We both like to travel and he likes to go to Orlando for our anniversary, butttt we definitely couldn't do that this year. I worked, he had school, it just kind of felt like a regular day, only it happened to be the day we got married 4 years ago!
We had a nice dinner though and got a couple of hours out of the house, just us, so that was good. I talked about looking older and having more lines around my eyes. We talked about our waitress and whether or not I should ask when her baby was due, but I decided against it. We talked about being so tired and...I have no idea what else! Lol, Wednesday night was a long night for us so we were both kind of dragging.
All of that being said, I love my hubby more each day and I am very thankful to have him in my life!
Babies are doing just fine and dandy. William's tooth has popped up a little more, but there's still just the one, and Emily has not sprouted any yet. They are both scooting around but not crawling. They spit up a ton. All over everything. I used to wonder, why would people keep their babies so dirty? Why would they keep them in dirty clothes and bibs? Well I now know that babies are ALWAYS dirty. I put a clean bib on, they spit up. We change clothes, they drool until their soaking wet. Almost every single picture I see either a soaking wet onesie or spit up food. Not pretty, but reality! :-)
Happy Friday night!

Beach Visit #2

Well, the babies went to the beach for the 2nd time today. Billy suggested that we go, so I jumped on that right away, since I do love the beach so much. Going to the beach with 2 babies is verrrry different than going alone. No jumping in your car with a towel and a magazine...I had a bit more stuff than that today! We had a good time though.

I don't think William is going to be a beach bum like me and Emily. I sat William down and put his feet in the sand and he cried. After a while he messed with it a little, but he def. didn't love it. He also cried when we got in the water. We put them in just a little, with their feet and I saw him down and let a small wave come up...he screamed. Lol. We tried not to laugh but it was really funny. I tried to let him sit there for a while and splash in the water, but he didn't care for that too much.

When we sat Emily in the sand, she promptly got a handful of sand and put it right in her face and mouth. Then she laughed. She also seemed to like the water, Billy put her feet in and had her sit down too and she just looked down at it, but never cried at all. I def. think that me and her will make many trips to the beach while brother and Daddy stay home...and do boy things.
William ate his first paper today. I'm still trying to figure out where it came from, but I found it in his crib after a nap and then he threw up part of it later. I thought he just chewed it up, but apparently he actually swallowed the paper...

Not much else is going on! Happy Saturday!

It's not only for little kids...

Falling out of the bed I mean. Yes folks, I fell out of the bed, somehow, on Saturday night! I dont' even know for sure what happened, all I know is that William was in the P&P in our room, and Emily was in her room in the crib...I heard her start crying, I got up to try to get her and them BOOM! Next thing I know I'm on the floor, in pain, and William is now screaming. I am laying there, trying to figure out what just happened, and how I'm going to get up, while listening to the babies just scream. I get up, get William and my mom pops her head in to see what is going on, and then she takes care of Emily. After that, i sat with ice on my elbow and foot for about 3o mins. It really hurt and I thought I might have broken my foot, but I didn't. It is a lot better today, still sore, but it's def. not broke. So that was good news. Billy was at a Jaguar game, so he missed all of this fun, but thank goodness my Mama and Nana were still here!

Yes, my mom and grandma came down on Tuesday night to watch the babies Wed-Friday while Kristy was off. They did great with the babies, and I think everyone had a good time. I am already sad that they are gone and I can't wait for them to come back, or for us to go there and visit with them. Although, it's always easier for them to come here! ;-)

Our bedtime ritual is getting a tad more challenging. The babies don't lay down as they used to...we went thru a good phase where they would eat and lay right down. They didnt' sleep all night, but at least they slept easily, for a while...but now...not so much. I don't know what's up with them, but it can be verrry challenging some nights. I don't know what other twin moms do, with the babies sharing a room we struggle to figure out how to let them fuss without bothering the other. It's definitely a balancing act and while we don't want to spoil and we wany them to learn to self-soothe, I hate interrupting a good nights sleep for the other one. Hopefully this is only a phase. AND, since neither have a tooth yet, I'm hoping it's all due to teething!!!

Not much else is going on around here. Happy Sunday!

She wasn't overly happy to try this hat on

He's doing better and better sitting up!

William's new wild and crazy 'do

UGH - My mom and GM had to clean this up while they kept the babies, ick!!!

UPDATE: Emily is now sleeping in Mama and Daddy's bed, booooo on that! We will try to transfer her before we go to sleep, but if not, Mama will be sleeping on the couch. We MUST find a new ritual soon!

Can we make it?

That is the question for my upcoming drive this evening. We have only been to WR once since the babies were born and my sister came down and helped me take them there, she took William and I had Emily. I did drive back with them by myself, but this trip it's just me. I HOPE they are going to cooperate, they dont' always like sitting in their seats for overly long periods of time...but we'll just have to make due.

William was getting up on his knees last night and then he'd fall to the side. He looks like he wants to move so bad, he just can't quite get it yet. He is also into choking himself, he puts all of his fingers in his mouth and then he gags. I think he thinks it's a game.

More to come after the trip!

One night getaway

My wonderful husband planned a night away for us on Saturday night, for my birthday. We left yesterday at 9:45am and got home today about 11:45 or so, so we were away from the babies for almost exactly 26 hours. Billy has been away from them before, but of course I have not, and while I was slightly nervous about it, I knew they were in great hands, and everything would be fine, which of course it was.
So anyway, we went to Daytona Beach and stayed in the Hilton right on the beach. It was really nice and in a great location. I actually wished we had a few days to explore and do all of the fun stuff that we were in the middle of, but we'll just have to do that next time. We got some beach time, which was nice, even though we are both burnt. Then we came in, cleaned up a little, had a little snack and walked around to explore. We rode cable cars out over the pier and back. Thought about doing the human sling shot thing, but then decided to save our money for other things. We ate ice cream. We watched TV and ordered room service. Slept WITHOUT a monitor on! :-) It was just nice being away. We missed the babies a lot, talked about them a lot, thought about them alot...but Mama and Daddy need their time too, and I'm a firm believer that husbands and wives MUST find time for themselves. So far, I'm learning that is easier said than done sometimes, lol, but we do our best.
So far, 30 is treating me well. I had a pizza party on my actual BD, and got to visit with family and my best friend and her hubby. We had our trip, then today, I had a little surprise BD gathering at B's parents house. Billy and Christie had been planning it, and while we got home a little earlier than planned, it worked out well, and I thought it was really nice of everyone to come over and celebrate my BD.
So now we are home, babies are napping, and we are cleaning up our stuff, gearing up for the work week. Happy Sunday!

Marley and Me

I think this was one of the saddest movies EVER! Billy put it on while we were all just hanging out on the floor, playing, and I did get interested in the movie, even though I wasn't in the mood to watch it. By the time the end rolled around, William was in bed, and I was nursing Emily, just boo-hooing. I had tears running down my face, hitting HER in the face, and she kept pulling back and just looking at me, like " WHAT are doing mom?" I had her up burping her and again, still crying (yes I was trying not to, but anyone who has seen the movie knows that is almost impossible), and she turned her head and put her little hand on my face. I'm sure she just did it out of habit, but it was so sweet and made my feel better. My sweet baby girl...

Anyway, she is being very loud these days, screeching and just yelling. Sometimes she does it over and over. She is also perfecting her squeal which is really cute, but also a sign that is going to expect to get her way. All the time.

William is just a roly poly, all over the place. He goes from here to there, not always back becausae he has a tendency to roll just one way, but he can def. move. Last night we left them alone for just a minute, and I came back in the room to find that he had found Billy's headphones on the ground and picked them up and was eating the cord. Billy said he wouldn't mess with any of the computer stuff, but we found that he did! Imagine that!

Today is my last day before crossing over into the new decade. This time tomorrow, well almost this time tomorrow, I will be 3-0!!!! EEEEEk! No worries though, all is well. Nothing could be better in my life unless I won the small lottery, and even then, it might not be any better.
Happy Wednesday!
