Stat tracker

William:
9 pounds, 8 ounces, 22.5 inches long

Emily:
8 pounds, 12 ounces, 22.5 inches long

Both babies are doing great! We were so happy to hear that. They are gaining good weight, the same rate a term baby would, and the doctor seemed very pleased with their progress. The shots went fine, they weren't as terrible as I expected. I had Billy's parents with me, so they helped a lot, and I think the shots were worst for them than anyone else, lol...
Emily and William were slightly fussy last night, we did one dose of tylenol, but that was it! So overall, I think our first shot experience was successful. They won't have to get any more until they're 4 months old.

So anyway, I guess that's about it. Enjoy this fine Tuesday!

Land of the Strongnecks...

Our babies have very strong necks and limbs! Yes, I know they are babies, but geez - sometimes I feel like I'm just fighting with them to move their hands/arms out of the way so they can eat! Same with their heads and necks. When they are hungry and trying to latch on, their heads go crazy and it's all I can do to control those little necks and get them situated. It's really funny to watch, but it makes my hands and forearms tired!!!

We got for their 8 week appt this afternoon, and I'm giving them their first does of tylenol before we go. I called the doctor and they said that was Ok to do, and I'm doing it off of some advice from a friend. Hopefully the shots will go well, for babies and for Mama.

I will post an update on their appt later, with all of the relevant statistics and such. I also have some pictures to post. I'll do a few here, and then some more later!

Defeat!

Yes folks, I caved in today and called my husband to come home from work. Both babies have been extremely fussy today and pretty much screaming the entire day...so at one particularly loud time, I called Billy and asked if he could come home. I told him I didn't know how to care for our children and I wasn't sure what else to try.

I felt bad about it at first, for bothering him at work and asking him to come home. but I don't feel so bad now. I'm sure that at one point or another, everyone has had to ask for help and that is OK...it's OK to ask for help. Yes Beth, it is Ok....not always easy to do. But I am becoming more and more comfy with it.

On the advice of my best friend, I took both babies and we "de-stressed." We laid down on our bed and I just talked to them, got real close to their faces, loved them, we talked about calming down and being peaceful, and taking naps and how important that was. And how we all 4 needed to stick together and take care of each other, and Mama didn't know it all, but she was trying her best to take care of them.

And it worked, they both fell asleep after about an hour or so.

As I am typing this though, guess who woke up!? William!!!!
Lol, Daddy has him now though.

The fun of being a new mom is just endless! I love my babies, even when they are screaming bloody murder and I want to bury my head in the sand..lol! Happy Thursday to me!!!!

Dear Lord...

Please give me the intuition to know what my baby daughter wants/needs when she cries and is extremely fussy. It is very hard not knowing, and I know every new mom goes thru this, but today is a rough day.

I don't understand what has happened. They were fairly easy babies right at first...and then like overnight, something changed. I don't want anyone to think that they're bad, they're NOT, they are still precious angels, but they cry more now. I think maybe we got spoiled in the beginning. Emily seems to have something wrong with her, not sure what. We thought it was her tummy...but I'm not sure it's really that. WE just don't know what to do...and it's very frustrating/tiring/sad.

We had a really good weekend, my mom and nana came down to visit, and they helped so much with the babies. I don't realize how much I enjoy help until I have it...and then I miss it terribly. Yes, I miss them too of course, I also don't realize how much I enjoy their company until it's here, and then it's gone too quick.

Well, I may try to lay down now...for a little while. Happy Wednesday!

Blogspot confuses me sometimes...

I don't do a lot on here, so sometimes the blog does weird things and I don't know how to fix it. Oh well, there are some pictures with no words, but they are self explanatory I suppose.

I was doing laundry yesterday and found 2 diapers in their dirty clothes hamper, they almost got thrown into the wash. I immediately thought to myself " Silly Billy" only to realize that they were folded up the way I fold them...lol. Oops!

I clipped William's nails. I have been trying to do Emily's but haven't been succesful yet.

I took both of their temperatures...in their bottoms! I have been very nervous about doing it, but with the encouragement of my friend and fellow blogger Amber, I did it! No, they didn't have a temp, they did feel sliiiightly warm, so I wanted to make sure.

Me and Billy are going out to eat tonight! Aunt Christie is watching the babies. We are going out for Billy's BD, which happens to be tomorrow, which also happens to be Valentine's Day. Yes, he's a V-day baby! My mom and grandma are coming into town tomorrow, and I'm very happy for that too. Help is great, and I know they have missed the babies terribly. I am contemplating making a trip to WR in a couple of weeks, but I'm not completely sold on the idea yet. I have to make it outside in the stroller with them first!!!

Not much else to say right now! Happy Friday the 13th!

Why won't any words post?!?!?!
