Humpback Whales

I decided to take William to the doctor today. He’s had a lingering cough he can’t shake, and over the last couple of days, it’s seemed to be worse. I had been debating on whether or not to take him in, so I decided today was the day. Thank goodness I did – he has a double ear infection! It’s only the 2nd one he’s had, and so far, Emily has never had one, but he’s completely asymptomatic, and I had no idea. Poor little guy.

While at the doctor’s office, Emily was sitting in a chair reading a book. She gets to a page and gasps, LOOK. I ask her what it is and she calmly looks up and goes “ This is a humpback whale.” WHAT?! I asked her to repeat it and sure enough, that’s what she said. I just laughed out loud…I have NO earthly idea where she learned that from..unless it was Dora…she learns quite a lot from Dora…

So this past weekend we travelled to WR for our annual BD parties. This is who we celebrate:

Aunt, cousin, me, family friend, Mama and family friend. We do this every year.

This year was extra good because all of the baby cousins were there to play with one another!

At Mimi’s house, they act like they are nudists!

And Mama got to go to Atlanta for a night out, to celebrate one of my very goodest friends, Wendy!

I think that’s it for now! Happy Wednesday!

The full moon…

Our haircut lady, Becky, told me that we should get Emily’s hair trimmed the week before the full moon, that it would help it grow back quicker and thicker. She reminded me of that earlier this week, so Billy’s mom and dad stepped up and took the kids to get haircuts for me this afternoon. I got to come straight home after work, pack our stuff for our weekend trip, and actually pack the car. The haircuts went well and we’ll see if the full moon story is true or not!

As you can see, Becky also curled Emily’s hair like a princess…she was very pleased, though she didn’t want to document it with the camera at all.

Yesterday was one of “those” nights around here:

Emily cried almost the whole night, William aggravated her and then laughed about it. And yes, he is wearing the same pajamas two nights in a row, just in case anyone noticed.

We are getting ready for our weekend trip tomorrow, me and the kiddos are headed to WR and then I’m headed to ATL for a bachelorette party. Yay!!!! Very excited about that, except I’m going to be the one that doesn’t fit in with fancy, super sleek and fancy clothes. I’m not gonna worry with it though, I’m just there to have fun and visit with my longtime buddies!

And just for the record, that’s the picture of the bite mark…it really does look like 2 little teeth!

Happy Thursday!

The Biter

That is what Emily was today…the biter.

IMAG0024 3

I’m not sure why, but at school today she decided she wanted to take a bite out of his back. He told me his back was all better, and she told me right away that she bit Williams. She couldn’t give me a reason WHY she did it. *shakes head* I have no explanation….

We went over to visit with Janet, Jakie and Christina tonight. Me and Janet tried on clothes, well I tried on clothes, Janet re-hung everything, and Emily and William played with Christina. They had a tea party, and after the fact, I realized they were using water…which Emily is NOT good at handling beverages in big cups, much less teeny tiny cups. Oh well, they still had fun and were quite cute!

When Jakie was younger, and I used to visit with Janet a lot, we took timer pictures all the time. We haven’t taken any in a while, so we decided to take some tonight. Of course my kiddos would not cooperate!

Last, but not least, last night we played in our “tent” and here are a few pictures from that.

At 32….

I have a wonderful husband of 5 years, and 11 months…6 years on September 3rd. He is currently in law school, so at 32 I work full-time, while my husband works part-time, at night, and will graduate in December. Needless to say, I canNOT wait.

I have a set of 2 1/2 year old twins. They are awesome and now that they’re here, I can’t imagine out life without them. They keep us on our toes…but we have fun doing it ( most of the time).

At 32, I play super hero and tie capes on a lot.

At 32 I “paint” sweet potatoes.

At 32 I’m very happy and satisfied with my life. It has its moments, sure, but overall, I couldn’t be happier.

Happy Sunday!

2 whole months

With no blog updates?! I don't know what's wrong with me. I say this each and every blog, all of them start out the same way...and I do have good intentions, they just never come to fruition. So guess what? This is gonna be a list, with not many pictures, since I'm at work, waiting for the day to end.

1) My babies have started school. Kristy got a new job, so they are no longer going to her house during the day. We started on July 25, so this is week #2. So far, pretty good. They love it. They talk about it, they chatter about it on the way home, they are very excited to show me the things they do during the day. Mornings - not so good. It is terrible getting them up, ready and out the door. I know it's still new, but so far, mornings make me feel stressed and frazzled, all before 6:15 AM. Hopefully as the weeks progress, that part will get easier.

2) Hmmm...what can #2 be? See, this is why I don't blog a lot...I don't have much to say! Potty training is still going fine, i would say we are mostly trained, except for sleeping. We still have accidents, but now, I think many of them are NOT accidents and they get disciplined now. Yesterday, William refused to pee in the potty when we got home from school, and then about 3 mins later, I see him naked in the living room, peeing on my carpet. He got in trouble for that, that was NOT an accident. If he does truly have an accident, and a little seeps out, he refuses to put on underwear that are wet, even a little bit. Needless to say, I was a lot of underwear and panties around our house.

3) We are also having some sleeping issues right now, which could be a result of the school change. Emily wants to sleep in our bed every night. She goes to sleep in her room, though many times she won't lay in her bed she sleeps on the floor, but at some point during the night, she's up and in our room. I try to put her back in bed, sometimes it works, sometimes now. I also made them a pallet in our room, because if they want to sleep in my room, I'm ok with that, I just prefer to keep my bed as MY BED. Again, sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't. Emily just climbs in sometimes, and other times she taps me to let me know she's here and she'd like some attention. Hopefully this is a phase that will pass soon!

I turn 32 tomorrow. It's weird, sometimes I have to subtract to make sure I'm saying the right age. It's not so easy anymore, knowing the number is going up and up....harder to subtract! Lol...hopefully our day will be fun and we'll enjoy some time as a family. We don't get enough of that as it is!

Happy Friday!

You ate it!

After hanging out with a fellow blogger for several hours today, I decided I needed to do an update and do a re-commitment ( again) for the blog. I really do like to blog, I’m just lazy about it. Blah on being lazy!

Today we had a playdate with Cicely and Grace. We have been talking about it for a few days now and the excitement seemed to build as we got closer. I had a little trouble finding the house and as we were pulled over getting directions, they kept saying “ Grace house now, Where’s Grace?” The date went well, in my opinion, and even though we left a mess, hopefully we weren’t bad guests!

Hopefully Cicely got some better ones, I took very few pisc!

On the way home, this is what happened:

DSC_0403DSC_0404

No, this isn’t poop…it’s a Rutabega, Apple and Spinach pouch…they have never EVER done anything like this before, so when William kept saying “mess” and I turned around to this, I was NOT happy. It seemed as though he just squirted the whole thing out in his lap/seat. When we got home I had to take the cover off, wash it and attempt to get the car seat back together. Oh well, at least it got a nice washing!

We like to be naked around here…not sure why, but William is the one who likes it most! And just for the record, I’m talking about Emily and William, NOT me and Billy, lol…

DSC_0355

We are loving the pool like crazy!

DSC_0360DSC_0382DSC_0383DSC_0284DSC_0301DSC_0302

We still like to take timer pictures!

DSC_0390DSC_0391

And we also love movie Saturday nights!

DSC_0352

That’s it for now, Happy Tuesday!

P.S. I just realized I didn't say anything about the title of the blog...yesterday morning when we got to Kristy's house Emily had a small hangnail. She told me to take it off, so I bit it off. She gasped and opened her eyes real big and said "you ate it! you ate my nail. you ate it, you ate it." Lol, it was soooo funny!
